Everything you need to know about Zaro
Zaro is the cheapest and fastest way for South African businesses to make and receive international payments. We make cross-border transactions as easy as local EFTs.
Banks charge a spread on the exchange rate. If the actual rate is R17 to the USD, a bank will "sell" you a Dollar at R17.10. This spread can be as high as 25 or 30 cents per Dollar. Banks also change SWIFT fees and, sometimes, other transaction fees.
Zaro uses blockchain-based stablecoins to process payments quickly and at low cost. This is the same tech that Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, BlackRock, PayPal and other are using.
Zaro uses institutional-grade security and works with regulated, compliant payment partners. We follow AML/KYB requirements and only onboard verified businesses.
Pricing is based on volume and corridor. We charge a transparent spread on the exchange rate and no SWIFT fees. You'll get a clear quote when you sign up or speak with our team.
Zaro is for businesses only. We onboard companies in South Africa after a Know Your Business (KYB) check. If you're a South African business making or receiving international payments, you're a good fit.
You fund your ZAR and USD balances via standard bank transfer. We'll provide the details once your account is approved. There are no extra charges for funding.
